New to Rail Freight?

How we do rail freight

Our customers tell us that they work with us because we get their traffic where they want, when they want, time after time at a cost effective price.

Specialist approach to planning

GBRf’s specialist teams use careful and flexible planning of people and rolling stock to respond to peaks and troughs of demand. This means that we get the best use for our customers from our fleet of 160 locomotives and over 1,400 wagons.

Train Managers

The men and women driving our trains are the key to getting our customers’ freight to where it needs to be safely and on time. That is why we recognise this and treat them as Train Managers. They work with our customers to help deliver a service that far exceeds our competitors.

We make switching to us from another supplier seamless and trouble-free, placing great emphasis on professionalism, planning and clear communications.

Our specialist approach to planning for our customers, our Train Managers and our account management means that we have welcomed new customers and retained existing ones each year since we were founded. The GBRf team work with Drax, Network Rail, EDF Energy, Aggregate Industries, Crossrail and Tarmac, amongst others.

GBRf’s wide ranging business portfolio includes intermodal services; the transportation of coal, biomass, infrastructure materials and petrochemicals; and the management of terminal operations.

Answer these three quick questions to see if rail freight is right for you:

How far is it (cargo) going?

How much does it weigh?

Is it leaving the UK?
