Last night, GB Railfreight’s Peterborough Maintenance Hub won the Rail Freight & Logistics Excellence award at the coveted Rail Business Awards.

The ceremony took place at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester and was attended by hundreds of people from across the rail sector.

Asset Director, Dave Golding, Bulk Wagon Manager, Chris Kay and Operations Manager, Stu Vinten collected the Rail Freight & Logistics Excellence award on stage. In attendance on the GBRf tables were the Peterborough Maintenance Hub project team, GBRf traincrew and HQ staff.

The £5.75 million Maintenance Hub opened last year and is located alongside the East Coast Mainline.  The Hub, which is larger than six-Olympic swimming pools was completed in just 10 months and brings back into use a derelict plot of land. The facility will be key to unlocking GBRf’s ambitious growth plans as it aims to run c.80 intermodal services a day by 2025. Read more about the award-winning Maintenance Hub here.
