GB Railfreight announces locomotive availability as part of fleet modernisation programme

GB Railfreight (GBRf) has today confirmed that a number of locomotives will be brought to market as part of a planned fleet consolidation programme.

The move follows the forthcoming introduction of 30 game-changing Class 99 locomotives into the GBRf fleet over the next 15 months. The introduction of the Class 99 fleet enhances GBRf’s capability, further positioning the business as the UK’s leading rail freight operator.

As the Class 99s enter service, GBRf is undertaking a natural period of consolidation across its existing traction portfolio. As part of this process, the company will market a selection of locomotives, including:

• • Class 60 locomotives
• • 59003
• • Class 47 locomotives
• • A number of 08/09 shunt engines
