Q) Why join GB Railfreight?

Q) I am interested in joining GBRf but I don’t want anyone to contact my employer for a reference?

We understand the railway is a close knit network and we know how important it is to protect applicants confidentiality, that’s why safety of the line references are only requested once applicants have accepted a job offer with us. Our HR team take care to treat applicant information in the strictest confidence and we abide by the GDPR legislation. When applying for a role we ask Applicants to ensure they clearly understand how their data will be processed and how long their data will be kept for. Q) How do I sign up for Job Vacancy alerts?

If you would like to be notified of future positions that might be best suited to you then you can sign up to our email alerts to receive updates whenever a new job is posted that matches the title, location, and/or keywords that you’re interested in.

To do this….

After searching for a job on the career site you’ll see a section underneath the job listings called Email Alert Options. Click that link and you can select your specific search criteria and start receiving emails that alert you whenever a new job posting is made that matches your criteria.

Q) Do we employ Trainee Train Drivers off the street?

Yes we do. GBRf are proud to offer amazing railway opportunities for those looking to enter the industry.  We have run many ‘straight to driver’ training programmes and we are looking to offer even more as we know how important it is to bring new talent into the railway industry as a whole. If you are interested in becoming a train driver please sign up for our vacancy alerts so you can be the first to know when one of these fantastic opportunities becomes available.

 

Q) Do GBRf employ Apprentices?

Yes. GB Railfreight run apprenticeships across our UK offices within administration, Safety, Engineering and Commercial. We offer structured and on-the-job training helping you develop key knowledge and skills to build your future career.

Alongside studying a professional qualification, you will work in a busy and challenging role delivering high quality service, in a fast paced environment.
