Petrochemicals

GB Railfreight moved into transporting petrochemicals by rail in March 2005, when it won a contract with Petrochem Carless to move gas condensate in East Anglia and drilling mud oils to Scotland.

GBRf's petrochemicals team enhanced their portfolio in December 2011, winning a major new contract with petroleum supplier Greenergy, the UKs leading supplier of petrol, biofuel and diesel. GBRf now runs up to three trains per week, hauling petroleum products from the North East to Inver Terminal at the Queen Alexandra Dock in Cardiff. These loads were previously moved via road.

GBRf continues to run up to two trains a week for Petrochem Carless, transporting gas condensate from North Walsham (Norwich) to a refinery in Harwich.
