GB Railfreight are currently seeking an experienced Train Manager (Driver) to work at Bardon Hill and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities:
As a Train Manager you will join our Bardon Hill team and support GBRf in our commitment to deliver a safe, reliable and best in class service to our customers. In this role you will liaise with Assistant Train Managers, Signallers and Contractors to ensure customer requirements are met and trains arrive on time.

Essential Criteria 
•        Freight Train driving experience
•    Extensive route and traction knowledge within Bardon Hill and surrounding areas
•    Clean full UK driving licence
•    Proficient with IT packages such as word, outlook and ability to download applications on IPAD’s.
•    Flexible attitude to working hours as this is a shift based role
•    Safety conscious with a clean safety of the line record and ability to remain calm in an event of an emergency situation.
•    Excellent concentration and observational skills.
•    Clear and professional communication skills to relay important safety messages.
•    Customer focused with excellent problem solving skills.     

Desirable  criteria
•    Fire and First aid trained

As part of the selection process candidates will be required to attend a railway standards new entrant medical and D&A test.

Part Time Experienced Rail Operator
Location: Dagenham, Essex
Hours: 20 hours per week
Days: Monday to Friday 21h00 – 01h00

GB Railfreight currently seek a Rail Operator to be predominantly based at our Dagenham location, however the role may also involve working in surrounding areas. Working a shift based roster on a nominal 20 hour per week, a Rail Operator will receive a basic salary of £14,213k plus first class staff benefits.

We are seeking safety focused and dynamic individuals to join our team and support GBRf in our commitment to deliver a safe, reliable and best in class service to our customers. Training will be provided for candidates that have the right skills and aptitude for the position.

Key responsibilities:

Responsible for the safe preparation of the train ready for its departure. The successful candidates will marshal and dispatch trains in a safe, punctual and efficient manner in accordance with GBRf and Railway rules and regulations. They will also drive trains at off network locations. Liaising with GBRf Train Managers (Drivers), signallers and contractor representatives you will ensure customer requirements are met and trains are prepared efficiently to time.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals wishing to start their career within the railway and could lead to exciting development prospects including promotion to a fully qualified Train Driver position if the right skill, competence and commitment is proven over time.

Key Criteria:

• Previous operational / Ground staff / shunting experience
• Experience in a physical and safety critical role
• GCSE in English and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent)
• Customer focused with experience gained in a Customer facing environment
• Fast learner, both hands on and in a class room setting
• Competent using an IPAD and ability to download applications (APP’s)
• Fire and First aid trained
• Able to multi-task and make quick decisions for short notice changes to train plans.
• Ability to work independently and on your own initiative.
• Excellent and clear communication skills to relay important safety messages to your colleagues.
• Safety conscious and ability to remain calm in an event of an emergency situation.
• Flexible attitude to working hours as this is a shift based role on a nominal 20 hour week over 7 days per week.
• Willingness to travel to other GBRf sites and locations within the Essex area
• A clean full UK driving licence
