Freight Train Manager
Location: Willesden, London

GB Railfreight are currently seeking an experienced Train Manager (Driver) to work at Willesden, London and surrounding areas.

If you are safety conscious with a clean safety of the line record, customer focused and have a passion for going the extra mile we would love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities:
As a Train Manager you will join our Willesden team and support GBRf in our commitment to deliver a safe, reliable and best in class service to our customers. In this role you will liaise with Assistant Train Managers, Signallers and Contractors to ensure customer requirements are met and trains arrive on time.

Essential Criteria 
• Freight or Passenger Train driving experience
• Extensive route and traction knowledge within London and surrounding areas
• Clean full UK driving licence
• Proficient with IT packages such as word, outlook and ability to download applications on IPAD’s.
• Flexible attitude to working hours as this is a shift based role
• Safety conscious with a clean safety of the line record and ability to remain calm in an event of an emergency situation.
• Excellent concentration and observational skills.
• Clear and professional communication skills to relay important safety messages.
• Customer focused with excellent problem solving skills.     

Desirable  criteria
•    Fire and First aid trained

As part of the selection process candidates will be required to attend a railway standards new entrant medical and D&A test.

Short Term Train Planner
Location: Doncaster
Type: Permanent, 37 hours a week (Monday - Friday)

GB Railfreight is currently seeking an experienced Train Planner to join the Short Term Planning Team in Doncaster. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for managing the timing and rolling stock planning of weekly train plans in order to meet customer requirements. The daily responsibilities of the role will require cognisance of the processes involved in the diagramming and rostering of traincrew resources.

Candidates must have previous transport planning experience, preferably within the UK rail industry. Knowledge of traincrew rostering and diagramming principles would also be beneficial. Excellent communication is essential; the role will require regular and frequent communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires a thorough geographical knowledge of the UK rail network and proficient people-management skills. The successful candidate will be required to undertake their responsibilities in a flexible, customer focused manner and must have the ability to competently carry out duties under pressure.

Skills and experience sought from potential candidates:

•         Knowledge of UK national railway geography and an understanding of UK railway rules and operations, including network gauging and clearances.
•         Knowledge of Network Rail’s timetable production process, including the Timetable Planning Rules and the Engineering Access Statement.
•         Ability to analyse, design and develop detailed train plans, making best use of resources available.
•         Ability to produce accurate, high quality work whilst remaining calm under pressure.
•         Flexibility to adapt train plans in reaction to short notice alterations, with the ability to innovative and address or mitigate any issues that may arise.
•         Ability to make effective decisions, prioritise and make compromises where necessary in order to manage deadlines effectively.
•         Management of various stakeholder expectations, both internally and externally, through regular and effective communication.
•         Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as a thorough knowledge of train planning software VoyagerPlan and TRUST. Knowledge of Network Rail’s iTPS software would also be beneficial.

GB Railfreight are currently seeking experienced Part-time Train Drivers to work Nationwide due to organic growth in the Rail-Services sector with movements, delivery and Testing/commissioning of new and refurbished trains.

Key responsibilities:
As a Train Driver / Manager you will join our team and support GBRf in our commitment to deliver a safe, reliable and best in class service to our customers. Essential Criteria
•    Freight or Passenger Train driving experience, preferably with current knowledge of EMU or DMU traction.

Rail Operator
Location: London

Level: Shift-based roster on a nominal 40 hours per week
Salary:

GB Railfreight is currently seeking an experienced Rail Operator to be based in London, however the role may also involve working in surrounding areas. Working a shift-based roster on a nominal 40 hours per week, a Rail Operator will receive a basic salary plus company benefits, there will also be opportunity to work additional hours.

We are seeking safety-focused and dynamic individuals to join our team and support GBRf in our commitment to deliver a safe, reliable and best in class service to our Intermodal customers.

The position is a fixed term contract however there is the possibility that this will extend or become a permanent contract.

Key responsibilities:

Responsible for the safe preparation of the train ready for its departure. The successful candidates will marshal and dispatch trains in a safe, punctual and efficient manner in accordance with GBRf and Railway rules and regulations. Liaising with GBRf Managers signallers and contractor representatives you will ensure customer requirements are met and trains are prepared efficiently to time..

Essential Criteria:

• Previous operational / Ground staff / locomotive handling
• Experience in a physical and safety critical role
• Customer-focused with experience gained in a customer-facing environment
• Competent using an IPAD and ability to download applications (Apps)
• Able to multi-task and make quick decisions for short notice changes to train plans
• Ability to work independently and on your own initiative
• Excellent and clear communication skills to relay important safety messages to your colleagues
• Safety conscious and able to remain calm in the event of an emergency situation
• Flexible attitude to working hours as this is a shift based role on a nominal 40 hour week over 7 days per week
• Willingness to travel to other GBRf sites and locations within the area
• A clean full UK driving licence
