GB Railfreight are currently seeking experienced Train Drivers to work in London and the South-East areas due to organic growth.

Key responsibilities:
As a Train Driver / Manager you will join our team and support GBRf in our commitment to deliver a safe, reliable and best in class service to our customers. In this role you will liaise with Assistant Train Managers, Signalers and Contractors to ensure customer requirements are met and trains arrive on time.

Essential Criteria
•    Freight or Passenger Train driving experience
•    Freight traction and/or Route knowledge of the Kent / Sussex / Wessex areas
•    Clean full UK driving license
•    Proficient with IT packages such as word, outlook and ability to download applications on IPAD’s.
•    Flexible attitude to working hours as this is a shift based role
•    Safety conscious with a clean safety of the line record and ability to remain calm in an event of an emergency situation.
•    Excellent concentration and observational skills.
•    Clear and professional communication skills to relay important safety messages.
•    Customer focused with excellent problem solving skills.    

Desirable  criteria
•    Fire and First aid trained

We are currently seeking an Informed Traveller Planner to join the Long Term Timetabling team in Doncaster. This is a role which plays a critical part in the train planning domain. The successful candidate will be responsible for the bids of all GBRf services affected by engineering works published in the CPPP and in accordance with RT3973, Fatigue Management Processes and part D of the Network Code. Upon receiving offers from Network Rail, the successful candidate will also be expected to challenge these offers if they do not meet our customer or operational requirements.

The role requires an individual who has good route knowledge and a strong understanding of our commodities and any operational constraints we might encounter. This role involves large volumes of repetitive work where attention to detail is essential. In a business which is evolving rapidly, the successful jobholder must be a good problem solver and a team player within a small team protecting the interests of GBRf.

The post holder will be an established point of contact with Network Rail as well as our Planning and Commercial teams and therefore must demonstrate good communication and relationship building skills.

Essential Skills & Experience required:
• Good working knowledge of national railway geography
• Strong knowledge of train planning systems including TPS/TRUST/TOPS/VoyagerPlan
• A general understanding of railway rules and operating methods
• Knowledge of railway operations
• Ability to produce quality work to a high level of accuracy
• Strong IT skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and both internal and external customers.
• Ability to make effective decisions, agree requirements and commercially accept compromises where necessary.
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Innovative with a proven record of creating solutions to work based problems.
• Analytical skills

GB Railfreight are currently seeking an experienced Manchester based Rail Operator to work part time on a nominal 16 hour week. 
We are looking for a safety focused individual to support GBRf in our commitment to deliver a safe, reliable and best in class service to our customers.
Key responsibilities:
The role holder will be responsible for the safe preparation of the train ready for its departure. The successful candidates will marshal and dispatch trains in a safe, punctual and efficient manner in accordance with GBRf and Railway rules and regulations. They will also drive trains at off network locations. Liaising with GBRf Train Managers (Drivers), signallers and contractor representatives you will ensure customer requirements are met and trains are prepared efficiently to time..
Essential Criteria:
• Previous operational / Ground staff / shunting experience is essential.
• Experience in a physical and safety critical role.
• Customer focused with experience gained in a Customer facing environment.
• Competent using an IPAD and ability to download applications (APP’s).
• Able to multi-task and make quick decisions for short notice changes to train plans.
• Ability to work independently and on your own initiative.
• Excellent and clear communication skills to relay important safety messages to your colleagues.
• Safety conscious and ability to remain calm in an event of an emergency situation.
• Flexible attitude to working hours
• Willingness to travel to other GBRf sites and locations within the area
• A clean full UK driving licence
