Meet our Train Managers
This month: Andrew Cooper

I joined GB as a Train Manager three years ago in August 2014, but started working within the rail industry over twenty five years ago. Eurotunnel for eleven years then spells at Harsco, Carillion, Balfour Beaty then a second spell at Eurotunnel before joining GBRf.

At GBRf I enjoy the variety the job offers, although I don't think I will ever get used to the alarm going off at 0130 and thinking what is going on! One day I can be doing loco moves the next driving a class 92 from France through the tunnel then the an aggregates job (that early alarm) to/ from Grain or Angersteins.

Away from work my pastimes are football and golf. The latter playing off a handicap of six (my lowest ever). I am a member of Walmer and Kingsdown Golf Club which is just a five minute drive from my house strangely convenient. As for football I am an avid Arsenal supporter for over 45 years. Like most things in life you have to take the rough with the smooth but watch out for Arsenal in the Europa league this year. It is right up Mr Wenger's street.

I have been married to my beautiful wife Julie for 15 years and we have a daughter called Jaime who is ten and luckily looks just like her mum. Jaime sits her Kent tests in September. Good luck J!
